Lola won bursaries to train at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy of Music in London, and studied at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, guided by Professor Emeritus James Gibb and Maestro Sergei Leiferkus. In Veneto she worked with Maestro Danilo Rigosa, who helped her find her voice.

The Italian line: legato, colour and ornament in the service of the word.

Una voce italiana — a journey through elegant, intimate bel canto ariettas to the passionate romantic world of Giacomo Puccini. The first half, Il Salotto, is the Italian drawing room: Bellini, Donizetti and Tosti, a Sicilian folk song and Gastaldon’s Musica proibita.

Puccini runs through Lola’s career from her Madama Butterfly premiere at the NCPA in Mumbai to O mio babbino caro at the Musikverein in Vienna in January 2026, and Quando m’en vo’ at the St Petersburg Philharmonia in June 2026. In Una voce italiana the second half, La Donna, l’Amore ed il Destino, moves from Bellini and Catalani to Mimì, Butterfly and Tosca.

Trained in Moscow and Vienna, Lola sings the Russian romance in the original language, from Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov to Glinka and Cui — romances as well as opera arias from the classical Russian and Slavic repertoire.
